after several months of stagnation, this has been the best month of discovering new music ever. let's break it down: last time i mentioned head automatica - popaganda. very catchy<3 matt & kim - grand. summery and bouncy. normally i wouldn't like the discordant singing but the melodies are addictive enough to overcome my initial adversity. CRASH KINGS. pure amazingness. i can't even articulate. gorgeous vocals, wide range of pace/style/tone across the album. check out "you got me" and "raincoat" saosin - in search of solid ground. at first listen, it didn't blow me away like their last album did, but i still find myself listening to it

FINALLY done with summer school! ughhhhhhhh new camera acquisitions since last entry: -canonet G-3 QL17   = $5, san luis obispo swap meet -polaroid spectra = $3, san luis obispo swap meet -polaroid one-step = free, gift from my press technician/work colleague -bell+howell 35mm point and shoot = $2, san carlos thrift store -vivitar pn2011 point and shoot = $1.5, san carlos thrift store ULTRA WIN i'm especially in love with the canonet and the bell+howell camera. the one-step is sweet too, except for being more primitive than the spectra camera and its film is even more expensive. i think i'll just purchase a couple packs

I LOVE IT. i hope it never ends.. so today i was hunting around the bindery lab looking for some paper to draw on... and i found this stack of the most perfectttt cover stock. i don't know the weight just from touching it but it's probably 90lbs or more. matte, off-white, around 11x17".. gahh<3 i already started drawing on it; it feels great with a regular 2B pencil, probably works well with marker and watercolor, too. im taking a fat stack home with me. :D in other news. i toyed around with the devart portfolio feature they introduced a couple weeks ago; it's a lot of fun. i really like how clean the layout is and how easy it is to use.
