after several months of stagnation, this has been the best month of discovering new music ever. let's break it down:

last time i mentioned head automatica - popaganda. very catchy<3
matt & kim - grand. summery and bouncy. normally i wouldn't like the discordant singing but the melodies are addictive enough to overcome my initial adversity.
CRASH KINGS. pure amazingness. i can't even articulate. gorgeous vocals, wide range of pace/style/tone across the album. check out "you got me" and "raincoat"
saosin - in search of solid ground. at first listen, it didn't blow me away like their last album did, but i still find myself listening to it in the car all the time. it's growing on me very quickly. i love cove
boys like girls - love drunk. normally i don't jump all over this genre.. but admittedly, it's very catchy. (notice how everything i listen to is justified by its catchy-ness factor) to their credit,they do sound like they've grown musically since their debut album.
mariah carey - "obsessed." mainstream r&b and autotune could NOT get any better. "i can see right through you like you're bathing in windex." i think this is the height of r&b lyricism. (i'm being sarcastic and serious at the same time.) not to mention the eminem backstory... conclusion: love it.

can't wait for KILL HANNAH (i ordered the deluxe package on their website [link]) and paramore (was about to order the deluxe package purely for the printed merchandise, decided not to at the last moment and that option is now sold out)!!!

not much development (literally) since last time.. i did manage to ruin a couple rolls of film, and longs drugs/cvs lost one of them too, those bitches. but! my polaroid 600 film arrived a week ago and i tried it out on my unsuspecting father. results are yellow-tinted as expected of slightly expired film but the image was surprisingly in focus. love the tone/texture. satisfied with purchase.

i've also decided to go ahead with the fujifilm instax cheki. more advanced (and aesthetically pleasing) than the awkward, bulging mini 7s, and cuter than the 55(i) and 25. just need to gather some more funding... which i'm making difficult on myself because of my constant impulse to purchase art supplies on sale at aaron brother's.

speaking of art:
i've started a new art collaboration project with my friends and (it was their idea) in an effort to inspire each other and push ourselves to continue drawing/painting/creating, which is especially difficult in college as we find ourselves losing time and interest. you can check out our progress here: [link]
